The 1st Stationery Sector Convention brings together over 100 professionals in Madrid and recognizes “Papelería Carabanchel” as the Sector's Ambassador Stationery Store

Madrid, October 20, 2025 - On October 16, the NH Madrid Hotel became the meeting point for the 1st Stationery Sector Convention, organized by the Stationery Sector Association (ASP).

The event, which brought together over a hundred participants, featured manufacturers, distributors, stationery stores, institutions, and strategic allies for a day dedicated to promoting the future of stationery as a driver of innovation, education, and social development. The day was opened by the Association's president, Josep Buixeda, accompanied by Jaime Peris, Special Commissioner for Reindustrialization, and other members of the Board of Directors, who emphasized the importance of strengthening the sector's voice.

Throughout the day, the convention combined spaces for reflection, training, and networking. Highlights included a roundtable discussion led by BDO, focusing on the sector's legal challenges and risks; a keynote address by Alejandro Macho Aroca, who explored the role of artificial intelligence as a strategic partner in the industry; and an international roundtable discussion, which brought together representatives from associations in France (Stephanie Verrier - President of UFIPA), Portugal (José Miguel Borda - President of APPG), Italy (Manuela Pucci - President of UFC), and Spain (Mr. Josep Buixeda - President of ASP) to share a European perspective on the present and future of the stationery sector.

Additionally, participants enjoyed an institutional visit to the Congress of Deputies, strengthening ties between the sector and public institutions, and a gala dinner that served as the closing ceremony of the event and a networking opportunity for participants.

During the dinner, one of the most anticipated moments took place: the presentation of the Stationery Sector Ambassador Award, which recognizes the role of local stationery stores as pillars of the local and educational fabric.

In this first edition, the top prize was awarded to Papelería Carabanchel, recognized for its social commitment, trajectory, and community involvement. Additionally, MASQUEPAPEL, El Mon d’Ausiàs, and Jaspe Art stationery stores were honored for their innovation, dedication, and contribution to strengthening the sector.

With this convention, the Stationery Sector Association takes a decisive step in its mission to unite the sector, share knowledge, and recognize the efforts of those who keep the essence of stationery alive. A day that marks the beginning of a new chapter for a sector that once again demonstrates that stationery is not a thing of the past but a present full of purpose and a future in motion.

More information about the Stationery Sector Association (ASP):

The first nationwide Stationery Sector Association began its activities with the primary goal of addressing the sector's needs and promoting its services. Established in April 2024, it aims to foster and boost the sector, protect the interests of associated companies, and build collaborative networks.

The Stationery Sector Association envisions more accessible stationery as a basic right, considering stationery as the primary provider of educational materials and a fundamental resource to facilitate and promote learning. To this end, the Association proposes a reduction in VAT on these materials.
